MACRAMÉ WALL HANGING WORKSHOP | THE MARKET AT HASBROUCK HOUSE
SATURDAY | OCTOBER 14TH
Macramé wall hangings are unique pieces of art that achieve the effect of texture and depth through the use of knotting and creative intuition to incorporate density of pattern and absence thereof. Wall hangings may be subtle or striking, asymmetrical or balanced, whimsical or refined. What makes each piece special is quite literally in the hands of the creator.
In this workshop, Erin will provide an introduction to macramé as a fiber art and talk about what inspires her to create. She will also speak briefly about my design process. Each individual participating will have their own creative process and in turn will find that their approach will be unique. Erin will equip the group with knowledge of how several of her favorite knots are formed and will then guide everyone in starting their piece. The length of the workshop will afford each participant the time to get comfortable with the knots they have learned and to come up with a direction for their design. You will leave with a completed macramé wall hanging to adorn your home or other space.
